Tampere as a research environment
The universities, research institutes and enterprises operating in the Tampere area create good preconditions for conducting eye and vision research. Research units representing different fields of science enable interdisciplinary combination of knowhow for the benefit of ophthalmology research, and the location of the research units close to each other is conducive to co-operation.
Those currently collaborating with us include the University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology, Pirkanmaa Hospital District and FinnMedi Oy. SILK’s cooperation partners in Tampere also include the Tampere Association for the Visually Impaired, enterprises operating in the field and the Eye Centre of Tampere University Hospital. The City of Tampere has significantly supported SILK.
